When I first began as a photographer one of my first goals was to have my worked published. However, as the years went by and the beautiful weddings I photographed were safely stored away, that goal seemed a distant memory. Why I would ask myself have I not, yet again, submitted my work… and the truth was that I was lacking the confidence to do so. Like so many of us, I was scared of being rejected. I thought there are already so many amazing weddings being submitted what makes mine stand out, what makes mine any different. I’d always see another photographers work and think I should have shot like that.
Then after a few years of stalking many of the inspirational wedding magazines, wedding flowers and accessories, Brides, youandyourwedding (also online,) and wedding sites like Rock My Wedding, The Lane, YPWP, Style Me Pretty and Love My Dress to name but a few! I realised that we all have a wonderfully unique style and that’s what makes our work interesting. You don’t want to shoot the same as another, that’s already been done, you want to add your own love, personality and the personality of the couple you are capturing on their most intimate and celebrated day!
I’ve loved every wedding and every couple I have photographed, they have given me the most joyous memories and glorious spontaneous imagery. That’s why I want to get them published, to show these beautiful memories, and to help give inspiration for the next bride and groom. Also, helping budding photographers gather ideas on how to capture those treasured moments for their special couples!
I have now conquered my fears and have been published many times! Thank you, wedding blogs, magazines and couples for helping me to share their most intimate and special moments with the rest of the world.
This month I have been published in Wedding Flowers & Accessories Magzine please do check it out for great wedding flowers and accessories ideas!
Thanks for reading guys!
